This one repeat sample measures 4.75 inches wide by 5 inches high and was made using worsted weight yarn with size 9 (5.5mm) needles. This is a front and back view.
The following chart gives the number of stitches to cast on for the number of repeats, as well as approximate finished size and yarn requirements.

Really want to knit this great afghan! I’m a bit “thick” regarding figuring how many yds needed to complete. I want to complete the “9 repeat” size. The way I figure it: I multiply 206.55 x 2 = 413.1 yds per FOOT x 6 (FT LENGTH) = 2,478.6 YARDS. Likewise, re: ounces: 3.24 x 2 = 6.48 ounces per foot x 6 foot length = 38.88 ounces.
Am I at least on the right track!! Appreciate your help so very much.

I would love to make this afghan in aran wool so I guess that translates to worsted, but not sure how many grams of wool I would need? Many thanks in appreciation of your help
What dimensions do you want the finished blanket to be? I can calculate it for you.
I would like to make this a baby sized blanket with worsted weight. No larger than 30″x30″ and possibly a bit smaller. I’m not sure how it much it would be with less repeats. Also I need to know how much yarn. I’m going to be pressed for time and I want to make sure it’s done.

Casting on 144 will give a 28.5 inch width. To make it square would take 10.26 ounces or 654 yards of yarn.
